Laparoscopic Colon Resection

Indications for colon surgery include diverticulitis, colon cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. Instead of a 12-18" incision on the abdomen we are able to accomplish these operations through a few 1/2" incisions, leading to less pain, faster recovery, and shorter hospitalization. Typically patients go home 2 or 3 days after surgery, compared to 5-7 days after open surgery!
